SCHOLASTIC

Army Public School, S.P Marg. Lucknow Cantt. Aims at imparting quality education to students, moulding them into responsible and patriotic citizens of the country. Here , the child is the focus. We lay emphasis on the inculcation of self reliance, active participation and overall excellence. The curriculum has been planned keeping in view the true spirit and ideals of the Constitution of India with Objectives leading towards making of complete individuals academically, aesthetically, socially and morally.

The School has the following sections:-

a)  Primary            :       Class I to V

b)  Middle              :       Class VI to VIII

c)   Senior              :       Class XI to XII

The School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (New Delhi)

CO-SCHOLASTIC

Each child is allotted a House from grade I onwards which will remain the same till the child continues to be on the school roll. The students are divided into four Houses namely: RANJEET, SHIVAJI, ASHOKA and RANAPRATAP. The Houses are the focus of most of the activities outside the classroom and serve to promote team spirit, friendly and healthy competition in sporting, literary and cultural activities. They also help to promote a feeling of belongingness amongst the members of the School who are from different backgrounds. House appointments provide opportunities for learning the skills of leadership. Each House has a House Master/ House Teachers, a House Captain and a Vice Captain to steer the functioning of the House.

THE STUDENT COUNCIL

The student council is comprised of School Captain and Vice-Captain, Sports Captain, House Captains and Vice Captains and Class Prefects who are appointed with reference to their scholastic and co-scholastic abilities and performance

CHURNING OF MINDS

It refers to varied inter-house competitions viz. story-telling, recitation, spelling bee, elocution, declamation, debates, quiz, etc. These fixtures are held throughout the session and individual points gained by participants contribute to the overall cock house championship.

ACTIVITIES BEYOND SCHOLASTIC

Co-scholastic activities at APS are extensions of the classroom teaching. Co-scholastic activities range from Music, Dance, Theatre to Art and Craft, Hobbies and Sports. All students participate in co-scholastic activities on all week days. Hobby and SUPW classes, Inter House & Intra class competitions are scheduled on Fridays. Some of these intra mural activities are also extended as Inter School competitions.
